Luke Anderson grew up in Rehoboth as one of five kids, which meant a lot of time outside and plenty of chores to go around. Taking care of his parents' lawn was one of them, and somewhere along the way, it stopped feeling like a chore. That early curiosity about how things grow and how a well-kept yard can completely change the feel of a home stayed with him.

He took it seriously enough to attend Bristol County Agricultural High School, where he majored in Landscaping and studied plant sciences, landscape design, and construction. It wasn't just elective-level interest; it was a deliberate foundation for the kind of work he wanted to spend his life doing.

In 1999, right out of high school, Luke started Oakhill Landscaping on his own. One truck, one person, a commitment to showing up and doing the work right. That commitment hasn't changed. The company has.

Luke has raised his family in Rehoboth, and the community isn't just a service area for him. It's home. He volunteers his time and resources with the Rehoboth Land Trust, supports the Rehoboth Veterans group, and donates to Norton Youth Baseball, where his kids play. Taking care of the community is an extension of caring for the land itself, and it's something Luke has always felt a responsibility for.

How the Business Grew

For the first several years, Oakhill was a maintenance and lawn care operation. Luke built his reputation the old-fashioned way: reliable schedules, careful work, and customers who called their neighbors. That word-of-mouth base is still the backbone of the business today.

Around 2012, a mason friend introduced Luke to hardscape installation. He took to it quickly. The combination of precision, craftsmanship, and creativity in building a paver patio or a stone retaining wall appealed to him.

He kept learning, kept taking on more complex projects, and gradually expanded into the full range of masonry and landscaping services Oakhill offers today.

Today, Luke runs a crew of experienced team members who share the same attention to detail that he built the company on. He's still hands-on on every project, still on-site when it counts.
